Baby Monitor with Cry Detection: What is the baby cry detection system?

What is the baby cry detection system?

A baby cry detection system is a technology designed to recognize and alert you when a baby is crying.

So basically, special sound analysis algorithms are used to identify when a baby is crying. These algorithms can detect specific cry patterns.

A baby monitor uses a microphone or other audio sensors to capture the sound and then uses machine learning or signal processing techniques to tell whether the baby is crying or not.

Once the system detects a cry, it sends a notification to the parent unit.

How Do I Use Baby Monitor with Cry Detection?

  1. Start monitoring: Start off by tapping on “Parent Unit” on your phone. By tapping on the “Camera” icon, you can start video monitoring.
  2. Turn on cry detection and set up sensitivity: Tap on the Setting icon. Set up the strength of sound detection intensity – choose between Low, Medium and High strength.
  • Low strength 👉 reaction to any noise.
  • Medium strength 👉 reaction to speaking.
  • Hight strength 👉 reaction to loud crying.

Adjusting the sound sensitivity levels determines how sensitive the camera is to your baby’s cry. For a quiet sleeper, adjust the sound sensitivity volume to the first bar. This tells the camera to detect subtle sounds and will turn on your video monitor even if your baby makes a little noise.

  1. Turn on sound detection alert: Annie Baby Monitor will alert you whenever sound or loud crying is detected.

💡You can customize the cry detection sensitivity to reduce false alarms. However, keep in mind that these systems might not be perfect and can sometimes be triggered by other sounds or noises. That’s why it’s best to set it up precisely for your environment to avoid false alerts.

Tips on Using Cry Detection Alerts

  • Place the camera closer to the baby to more accurately detect audio.
  • Set the sound sensitivity to low strength to monitor a quiet sleeper.
  • Set the sound sensitivity to medium strength to monitor a room that is moderately noisy.
  • Set the ound sensitivity to high strength to monitor sounds in a noisy room (i.e. during the day).
  • Experiment with the sensitivity level to find out which audio level trigger works best for your baby.
