How to make baby food with avocado

It is very simple to transform a beautiful, ripe avocado into a healthy lunch for your baby.

  1. Take your avocado. Make sure that it is ripe and ready.
  2. Cut it in half, remove the pit, and scrape the avocado flesh from the skin with a spoon.
  3. Put the avocado flesh into a blender, add a bit of water, and process until smooth.

That’s it! No need to add any salt or lime. Just the avocado and some water to help it blend together.

Freezing and storing avocado puree

Once you have your avocado puree you want to freeze some of it.

It’s a real time-saver to prepare your baby food in a batch and store it in a freezer for later.

You will need an ice cube tray and some zip-lock bags.

  1. Fill your ice cube tray with the mashed avocado.
  2. Let them freeze overnight.
  3. Pop them out from the ice cube tray and put them into a zip-lock back.
  4. To thaw the avocado, put some cubes into the fridge for 12 – 24 hours.
  5. Enjoy!

Pro tip: Use a marker to write the date on the zip-lock bag. This will help you to keep track of how long the avocados are in the freezer. You can keep frozen mashed avocado in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Once your baby gets used to the taste, start mixing the avocado with other fruits and veggies.

Add water to get the desired consistency.
